One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is not just delivering the lessons, but also creating an atmosphere that stimulates imagination and invites students to play and explore. That's why material design is not just a duty for me, it's also a passion.
Threads to the Art of Procrastination
This material was designed as part of the Developing Course Content in ELT course. It focuses on the theme of procrastination, transforming real Twitter posts into a short Reels-style video. Each post was voiced through AI-generated speech and paired with rhythmic visuals and background music. The material aims to raise awareness of students’ learning habits while enhancing listening comprehension through authentic and engaging content.
School Mystery - Past Continuous Tense
I created a lesson plan to teach the Past Continuous tense using the TBLT (Task Based Language Teaching) method. To make the lesson more dynamic and engaging, I designed the materials and web version of a classroom game called "School Mystery", inspired by detective board games such as Cluedo. In this game, students took on roles such as Sherlock and Dr. Watson, used visual clue cards, and interacted with a Python-based web game board where they rolled dice and moved their tokens. While trying to figure out who was doing what at the time of the mystery, students practiced Past Continuous structures in a fun and collaborative setting.
Sherlock Holmes - Passive Voice
We designed a lesson plan to teach the Passive Voice using the PPP (Presentation-Practice-Production) method. To contextualize the grammar point, we used a simplified version of the Sherlock Holmes story “The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle.” Through visual materials and guided reading tasks, students explored how Passive Voice structures are used in mystery narratives. In the production stage, they chose from creative activities such as writing a detective report, designing a case file, or creating a comic strip based on the story. This approach helped students internalize the grammar in a meaningful and story-driven context.
Appearance - Have/Has got
I created a lesson plan that explains the English language structure Have/Has got using the PPP (Presentation-Practice-Production) method. I made this plan fun with the theme of the Friends series. I prepared activity sheets using series scenes to attract students' attention. As a game activity, I designed cards by adapting the UNO game to this theme; thus, the lesson became both interactive and memorable.
Animals
In this lesson where we covered the subject of animals, I created a puzzle activity and visual answer cards to increase student participation in the lesson. I also designed simple and understandable forms where students can evaluate both themselves and the teacher. The most special part of the lesson was an original song whose lyrics and music were completely mine, and whose audio recording and video editing I did myself. The video I prepared with this song supported the subject both auditorily and visually.
Directions
In this lesson plan, which covers the topic of directions, I benefited from the power of drama in education. I designed a city map for the students and designed an exploration game similar to ‘egg hunting’ with an additional map. I also added an evaluation dimension to the process by creating forms where students could evaluate each other’s performances.
Jobs
In this lesson, I taught the subject of professions with a cooperative learning approach. I prepared textbook-like visuals with explanations and example sentences for each profession. I designed answer cards for the activity consisting of matching activities and multiple choice questions so that students could reinforce the information they learned.
